I recently finished a conversation with Had of Perfect Pools, the pool contractor for Pinery Glen for the 2009 season. He is very excited for the year, to begin meeting people within the community, and to have his lifeguards begin swim lessons. The pool is scheduled to open on Friday, May 22, 2009, at 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. Regularly scheduled pool hours (from Memorial Day to Labor Day) are from 10 in the morning until 8 in the evening.
With the excitement of the pool opening, it is a good time to remind everyone about when the pool may be closed due to weather concerns. If there is rain or lightening in the area, the pool will be closed to keep everyone safe. The lifeguards have landmarks that they watch to determine how close lightening strikes are. Also, if the temperature is below 65 degrees outside, the pool will remain closed until the outside temperature reaches 65 degrees to help prevent the possibility of hypothermia.
When the pool opens on Friday, May 22, 2009, at 4:00 p.m., the lifeguards will have information about swimming lessons available. Registrations for swimming lessons will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, allowing the lifeguards to focus on the pool during what is expected to be a busy weekend.
Please make sure that when you visit the pool that you have your Pool Access Key Card with you on each visit. Those without cards will not be let in, ensuring those using the pool are indeed members of the Pinery Glen community in good standing. If you still need your Pool Access Key Card, please visit the library section of the web site in the pool information area for the needed forms to complete and visit the web site’s calendar to see if you can come to one of the Pool Access Key Card Pickup dates. If you are unable to make it to one of the scheduled Pool Access Key Card Pickup dates, you can submit a fully completed form(s) by email, fax, or mail and a Pool Access Key Card will be forwarded once your form has been processed.
Enjoy your Summer. Have Fun and Be Safe.
